CONNECTING TO OTHERS Shepherd of the Hills offers a wide variety of opportunities for spiritual growth that serves adults, college students, teens, and children. Prayer Chain : If you have a prayer request or would like to be a part of the SOTH Prayer Chain, please speak with Pastor Denney. You can help brothers and sisters at church by praying for them in difficult times or offering prayers of thanksgiving. Prayer requests can be submitted in person, through text, by phone at 517-392-8494, or by email at pastor@dulutheran.org . You can also submit requests through our website here . ​ COMING UP AT SOTH On Wednesday evenings, we have Midweek Bible Study starting at 6:30 PM. Following study, we have Midweek Worship at 7:30 PM. This is a repeat of the service from Sunday morning. If you are working or out of town on the weekend, these are great opportunities to stay connected to the Word and our church. This Sunday, May 5th, will be Youth Confirmation Sunday. This year we have six confirmands: Jack Foster IV, Layla Frigaard, Wyatt Hacker, Peter Johnson, Henry Pooler, and Katie Ray. We hope you can join us as our confirmands make their confession of faith before the congregation and then receive the Lord's Supper. ​ On Friday May 10th, there will be a men’s Bonfire & Bible study fellowship opportunity with Shepherd of the Hills church hosting a bonfire and Bible Study. Bonfire will be on the church grounds behind the playground. Bible Study starts at 7 pm. Bring snacks and beverages to share. The Youth Music Ministry will be enhancing our worship service on May 19th. A Picnic Lunch will take place after Bible Study and Sunday School on Sunday, May19th. We are in need of volunteers to help provide sides, desserts, clean-up and set-up. The church will be providing pulled pork and hot dogs for the main dish as well as beverages.. Sign Up Here. The preschoolers will be singing several songs honoring those who are graduating to kindergarten. Following the service will be graduation cake, juice, and fellowship. ​ Outreach We have an opportunity for us to do some outreach in Duluth coming up on June 1, 2024, by supporting Veterans in our area at Ruck Life | June 1 | 11:00 am - 3:30 pm. This wonderful event is organized by our sister in Christ, Frances Wittenberg. RUCK LIFE is the journey that celebrates our nation’s heroes and helps build healthier, happier lives for veterans living with trauma. Ruckers have been the primary source of funding that helps hundreds of veterans and their families in the northland. Bring your own rucksack/backpack, any style will do. Load your pack with food and clothing to donate at the finish line for locals in need. Contact Ryan Bogart if you'd be willing to volunteer for this event. For details visit the website here. ​ Altar Flowers : Fresh flowers have been added to the altar area to give God glory and beautify the sanctuary over the past few months. Thank you to everyone who has signed up so far. The chart on the bulletin board by the offices has been updated, and members are encouraged to sign up for a Sunday. Our flower volunteer, Renee Graen, will purchase and place the flowers on the altar. Please indicate if the flowers are in memory of someone or a special occasion. CAMPUS MINISTRY Shepherd of the Hills Campus Ministry is a group for college students in the Duluth area to encourage each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. Bible Studies will be Tuesday evenings at 6:00 PM CAMPUS MINISTRY 2024 ​ You can expect a free meal, small-group Bible study, or a fun group event each Tuesday evening. each week.
