CONNECTING TO OTHERS Shepherd of the Hills offers a wide variety of opportunities for spiritual growth that serves adults, college students, teens, and children. Prayer Chain: If you have a prayer request or would like to be a part of the SOTH Prayer Chain, please speak with Pastor Denney. You can help brothers and sisters at church by praying for them in difficult times or offering prayers of thanksgiving. Prayer requests can be submitted in person, through text, by phone at 517-392-8494, or by email at pastor@dulutheran.org . You can also submit requests through our website here. ​ Altar Flowers: Lisa Sanders gave the flowers on the altar this morning to the glory of God in memory of Galen Sommer. ​ On Wednesday evenings, we have Midweek Bible Study starting at 6:30 PM. Following study, we have Midweek Worship at 7:30 PM. This is a repeat of the service from Sunday morning. If you are working or out of town on the weekend, these are great opportunities to stay connected to the Word and our church. ​ Spring SOTH Clean-up Day: Next Saturday, April 27th at 9AM Regardless of the weather, there are also lots of indoor spring cleaning projects such as cleaning windows and screens, cleaning pews, dusting the stained glass windows, washing marks off the walls and similar projects. Please feel free to come for an hour or two or more if you like. Please speak with David Hedin if you have any questions. ​ This month we will be meeting for Women’s Bible study on Tuesday, April 30 at 6 pm , and we will be continuing our study on Ephesians. We will meet at Kathy Hedin’s home:5813 S. Pike Lake Road, Duluth. If you have any questions or would like to arrange ridesharing, please speak to Kiersten Nash or Kely Dunsmoor. ​ Youth Confirmation Sunday will be on May 5th. This year we have six confirmands: Jack Foster IV, Layla Frigaard, Wyatt Hacker, Peter Johnson, Henry Pooler, and Katie Ray. We hope you can join us as our confirmands make their confession of faith before the congregation and then receive the Lord’s Supper. ​ On Friday May 10th, there will be a men’s Bonfire & Bible study fellowship opportunity with Shepherd of the Hills church hosting a bonfire and Bible Study. Bonfire will be on the church grounds behind the playground. Bible Study starts at 7 pm . Bring snacks and beverages to share. Any questions please reach out to Bill Dunsmoor or Peter Moeri. ​ Altar Flowers : Fresh flowers have been added to the altar area to give God glory and beautify the sanctuary over the past few months. Thank you to everyone who has signed up so far. The chart on the bulletin board by the offices has been updated, and members are encouraged to sign up for a Sunday. Our flower volunteer, Renee Graen, will purchase and place the flowers on the altar. Please indicate if the flowers are in memory of someone or a special occasion. Please donate and contact Renee Graen at 763-607-4498 if you have any questions. ​ WELS Women’s Conference: The WELS Women’s Ministry is putting on a conference with the theme of “Powered to Proclaim”. The keynote speakers and breakout sessions will focus on the work of the Holy Spirit as recorded by Luke in Acts and its application to us as 21st-century Christian women. This will be on July 28-30th in Pewaukee, WI. Early bird registration pricing ends on April 30th, so please contact Kely Dunsmoor ASAP if you are interested in attending this event. We have 8-10 ladies interested so far. It will be a great opportunity for fellowship and gaining encouragement in your walk of faith! https://welswmconference.net/

Thank you to everyone who came to VBS! We hope your children had as much fun hearing how Jesus leads them through the twists and turns in life. on the right path in life. Level-Up with VBS Spin the spinner, beat the clock, skip ahead, level up, and play to win! You'll need to bring your A-game for this VBS. Twists & Turns celebrates God's word and games of all kinds. From classic tabletop games to video games and more, kids will play their way through VBS while learning that Jesus guides them through all the twists and turns of their lives. They'll find that it's never "game over "even when they mess up." ​ From classic tabletop games to video games and more, kids ages 3-11 will play their way through VBS while learning that Jesus guides them through all the twists and turns of their lives. They'll look into the Bible and God's Holy Word to explore three accounts where Jesus does marvelous things. They will get to learn about the vast and incredible love that God has for each of us! VBS will be held at SOTH on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. ​ The end of VBS will be commenced with a summer celebration Thursday, August 3rd, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Free fun for the entire family. The children who attended VBS will show us a little of what they learned, followed by games, music, and food. Invite your friends, neighbors, and family too. All are free of charge.

WOMEN'S MONTHLY BIBLE STUDY Each month you are invited to join fellow sisters in Christ for a Bible study. Typically, the study is held on the last Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM.
