My son is 7 years old. He is very smart and does well at school in all areas. He has a tantrum problem though. They are worse and more often when he is tired and we do everything to make sure he's in bed by 7:30pm. You never know what will set off the tantrum and 99% of the time it's something very small. I am a WELS member from St. Paul's Lutheran Church in North Mankato, MN.
My daughter and I were speaking about judgment day.
She asked me this question. I didn't know how to respond.
If our souls leave our bodies when we die. they then go to heaven or hell.
scripture says that on judgment day that everyone will be judged. both the living and the death.
Since the dead souls either go to heaven or hell haven't the dead already been judged?

I grew up in the WELS and several family members have served on the council in the past. At that time the Pastor was our spiritual advisor and the council was in charge of everything else concerning the church. By that I mean renting of facilities use of property, upkeep, programs that may want to be carried out etc. Is this still the way it is or has this changed? Now does the Pastor make these decisions as he sees fit without the council's approval?

I am attending Alcoholic Anonymous and I do not pray with them because they believe in a "higher power". That higher power may not be the Tri-une God and I will notjeopodize or put myself in the position of praying with unbelievers. Could you shed some light on this view of my belief?
